Independence Day

For the Independence Day celebration this year we went down the road to the local amphitheatre and paid $5 to see a performance from Lonestar followed by the best fireworks I have ever seen. They shot them right over us. My neighbor said it was like the scene in star wars flying through the stars at warp speed. It was pretty fabulous. And I LOVED Lonestar. The girls however, thought it was all too loud! Oh well, can't please everyone:)

Birthday Girls

For the girls' birthday we went to Chuck E Cheese with their playgroup.
They love that place and eat extremely well! Avery has a thing for the
Chuck E statue and will spend most of her tokens on this ride!

Ava and her pal, Charles, liked the roller coaster simulator.
Ava spent a majority of her tokens here.

They were spoiled again. But it is so fun to give them presents
because they play with ALL of their toys. Which does make
it hard to pare down.

They LOVE cupcakes and so we decided to go that route.
And of course it is chocolate! They are still getting used to
the concept of blowing out candles.

How old are you Ava?

Happy 3rd Birthday Girls!

Summer Lovin'

I tried to put these photos into a slide show, but the slide show website hates me. I always do it three or four times, this time I had it so cute, but it wouldn't save! So this is what we get. I got a lot of random pics of our summer and thought I'd throw them in. We had fun swimming, going to the beach, enjoying popscicles, bugs, the garbage truck, sidewalk chalk, hot dogs and just plain fun!

Happy Mother's Day

For Mother's Day, Darin brought me some flowers (one of those rare occasions). We celebrated the previous day with a trip to Leo Carillo State Beach. We were on the road with the rest of Southern California...

The beach was beautiful with large rocks, tide pools and caves, but it was VERY windy.
We weren't so smart, sitting right out in the open. Others congregated near the caves for a wind break.

Us girls painted our toes for the occasion. When we got home Ava asked me to paint her fingernails, which I did...

She later decided to paint Avery's fingernails and this is the result... Happy Mother's Day to me!

Easter Revisited

I don't get much time to do this blogging hobby of mine, so I get a bit behind from time to time. I am just now getting my Easter pics up. We are still deciding what traditions to give our children. At the last minute I decided to give in to hiding the baskets, but didn't give in to putting candy in the eggs for the hunt. Maybe when they are older, but right now candy has become an obsession of theirs (thanks to Halloween) and I don't want them to associate all holidays with candy:) We were in Vegas on Easter morning, where we hid the baskets and later did an egg hunt. We did another hunt when we got home, as they loved it sooo much!

California Poppies

I know it must sound silly obsessing over flowers, but when you see acres filled with them, it is a sight to see! And the photographer in me wants to get a great shot with my beautiful girls. Too bad these beautiful girls have other plans. I tried on three different occasions to get a good shot, but they would not cooperate. Once I thought I heard a rattler and high-tailed it out of there!

The poppies weren't in full bloom in this picture, but I thought this was the best because I got true smiles.
